Do you remember reaching that awkward age when suddenly family members and family friends had no idea how to buy gifts for you anymore? No longer were fluffy socks, new pjs or the latest Enid Blyton book acceptable. Childish, some might even say. Out of nowhere emerged this unspoken rule that at some stage between the ages of 13 and 14, you were considered too grown up for those sort of things. Some grappled with pretty notebooks, occasionally the odd New Look voucher floated your way. Others threw in the towel completely, resorting to money or simply avoided you for the entirety of the Christmas period.

Then came the true heroes of Christmas gift giving. The beauty gift set givers.

Now, I will admit that the spoiled 14 year old in me did turn her nose up initially but the more I thought about it, who doesn’t want a luxurious L’Occitane shower gel to brighten up an early morning shower? Who wouldn’t benefit from a hydrating hand cream to save your winter skin? And as for the sets with candles included? Oh my, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven (still do).

Moving on to another confession of mine, I’m super stingy when it comes to buying beauty products. I love beauty, I love learning about new products and I love trying new products out but usually they stay within my basket, never actually making it as a final purchase. The act of actually going through with the purchase isn’t necessarily fun for me. I can’t help thinking the money could be spent on clothes and so I’m left with a continuously growing beauty wish list of products I never get round to buying. This contradictory predicament makes me a prime example of someone who truly appreciates being a gifted a good beauty set.

Other prime examples are the beauty lovers that reside on the other end of the spectrum, the ones who seem to own every product under the sun, making them impossible to buy for. Beauty gift sets give them the opportunity to own their favourite products in travel size or to try out lots of new products before committing to their favourite.

We’ve pulled together the best gift ideas for those who love everything from skincare and natural products to the most opulent beauty products on the market.

Below we’ve highlighted some of our top favourites and you can click through the gallery above for more standout beauty gifts sure to make any beauty lover’s Christmas all the more exciting.

The Best of L’Occitane Collection, £69 at L’Occitane

My gift set loving heart skips a beat when anything L’Occitane lands in my lap on Christmas Day. L’Occitane is where my appreciation of gift sets first revealed itself. The set itself contains almond shower gel, shea butter, lavender foaming bath and so many more iconic products from the brand. It’s parcelled up in a L’Occitane signature gift box which makes for smart storage in the future plus £10 of each sale goes directly to UNICEF to provide life-saving eye-care treatment to those in need.

The Party Kit, £65 at Liberty London

Jumping right to the top of every beauty junkie’s wish list, The Party Kit from Liberty London brings together top brands to create a kit with everything you could possibly need for a festive night out. Brands include Sam McKnight, Trish McEvoy, Nars, CoverFX, Hourglass, Essie and Bobbi Brown. To top it all off the kit comes with a chic Scamp & Dude pouch for storing all of your glorious new products.

The Deluxe Organic Facial Gift Set, £55 at By Sarah London

For a truly unique beauty gift set this Christmas, we highly recommend this gorgeous skincare set from natural beauty brand, By Sarah London. As a brand, they’re committed to empowering conscious living, detailing their full ingredient list front and centre on all of their products so that you know exactly what you’re putting on your skin. The set comes in a gift box made from 77% recycled materials and includes a hand written note with a message of choice for the recipient. In terms of products, recipients are treated to the Green Clay Cleansing Balm and Organic Facial Oil from the brand. Complete with a delicate muslin cloth to be used alongside the products, this gift set is everything the conscious beauty lover needs for healthy skin all winter long.
