The Duchess of Sussex and her friends all flew out to New York City in celebration of the fast-approaching arrival of Baby Sussex. With most of Meghan Markle’s closest friends still based in the U.S or Canada, the trip and the baby shower itself was a chance to share the excitement of the baby news with them all, some of which she hadn’t seen since the announcement of her pregnancy. The star-studded occasion included attendance from many of her best friends including Abigail Spencer, Jessica Mulroney, Amal Clooney and Serena Williams. The intimate gathering took place in The Mark Hotel where crowds gathered outside hoping to catch a glimpse of Meghan Markle and her celebrity best friends.
Serena Williams hosted the spectacular baby shower for her friend from the penthouse suite of the Upper East Side five-star hotel, reportedly contributing to the cost of the overall baby shower. As all true friends do, Williams was careful to consider every little detail of the shower to make sure all of the little things Markle loves, from flowers to favourite foods, were included in the occasion.

It seems local florists had their work cut out for them as the flowers began being delivered in their masses including multiple beautiful bouquets, pink tulips, yellow daisies and blue hydrangeas, with a convertible crib from Babyletto even appearing among the deliveries. Making the most of the fun-filled trip, Meghan was photographed going to lunch with best pal Abigail Spencer before heading to The Met Breuer to check out the contemporary art at the museum. Next up was dinner at The Polo Club with longtime friends, Serena Williams and Markus Anderson.
While Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, wasn’t in attendance of this baby shower, she’s expected to attend her second baby shower in London closer to the baby’s due date in late April.
