In the words of Vogue, the biannual couture shows in Paris “are among the highlights of the global fashion week calendar.” It’s a week filled with fantasy, extravagance and imagination where runways are dripping with embellishments and more tulle than you could ever imagine. The last week was jam-packed with top designers including Givenchy, Christian Dior, Elie Saab, Valentino and Chanel who brought their first couture offering since the passing of Karl Lagerfeld in February.

The Best of Couture Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2019 – Harper’s Bazaar

“The Roman Colosseum formed the majestic backdrop for Fendi’s autumn/winter 2019 couture collection, which was dedicated to its late creative director, Karl Lagerfeld. Venturini Fendi showed 54 looks, one for each year of Lagerfeld’s tenure, a subtle tribute that he himself surely would have approved of.
