One colour we can’t escape from at this time of year is red. Tinsel, tree decorations, the famous coca-cola advert, Santa’s entire ensemble, the colour red is everywhere come Christmas time. Now is the time to welcome it into our wardrobes with open arms.

There are several things within the fashion department that we associate with Christmas. Sequins, festive jumpers, cosy loungewear and luxurious velvet tick a few boxes but it’s the red hues that truly take the biscuit (or mince pie) at this time of year.

Similarly to red lipstick, many are hesitant to embrace such a bold colour despite admiring it on others. In actual fact, there’s no better time than Christmas to give the trend a whirl. Throwing on a red dress instantly picks up your mood and there’s nothing better to get you in the festive spirit.

While trends come and go throughout the fashion calendar, the colour red at Christmas time is a safe bet so fork out for that silky red number you’ve had your eye on, its cost per wear factor will see you through many a festive season.
