This season there’s no escaping the grip of the animal print trend. From leopard print to zebra print and even hints of tiger print, all bases are covered but one trend in particular that’s stopped us in our animal print tracks is the revival of the snakeskin print. Given the current shift towards animal print, it’s a relatively natural evolution. Throw in the heavy 80s reference of the trend and it fits right into 2018’s fashion scene.

Snakeskin prints featured heavily in AW18 collections from designers including Zimmerman, Rochas and Tory Burch either as accents within the collection or as one-off statement pieces. As the trend steadily slithers its way from the runway to our wardrobes, the key is not to over-overcomplicate it, instead making a calculated statement with the trend.

Generally speaking, snakeskin looks best worn with neutral pieces and contrasting textures. If you’re feeling brave, injections of colour should be incorporated with a softer approach. Think pastel yellows, sherbet pinks and hints of lilac.

Like so many others, we know you probably shop a range of high end and high street brands, taking the plunge for investment pieces such as your core winter boots and coats and taking a more measured approach when it comes to basics. You can’t beat a good investment piece, the kind that will see you through for seasons and even years to come but sometimes it’s all about quick and easy ways to update your wardrobe and revamp your look. Whatever you’re in the market for when it comes to the snakeskin trend, we’ve got you covered.
