Tommy Hilfiger has partnered with The Coca-Cola Company to announce a special re-edition of the Coca-Cola capsule collection originally designed by Mr Tommy Hilfiger in 1986. The announcement of the TOMMY JEANS Coca-Cola launch comes as the two iconic American brands join forces in their shared heritage rooted in pop culture. Together, they’ve reunited to celebrate individuality, determined optimism and their shared history with a capsule collection and campaign inspired by the archives.

“The TOMMY JEANS Coca-Cola capsule collection celebrates an iconic milestone in Tommy Hilfiger’s history,” said Avery Baker, Chief Brand Officer, Tommy Hilfiger Global. “The Coca-Cola collection that we launched in the ‘80s was bold, bright, and instantly recognizable. This re-edition builds on the originals, celebrating the optimistic and youthful spirit at the heart of both brands while adding a modern street-style twist for the next generation. Since the Coca-Cola collection originally launched,TOMMY HILFIGER has continued to be a pioneer in fusing fashion with pop culture.”

And we concur. Tying into the American brand’s aesthetic, each piece celebrates the inclusive and positive spirit at the heart of the TOMMY HILFIGER brand, tied up with digital campaigns by the brand which includes an exclusive interview with Mr Tommy Hilfiger himself. Shared across their social media channels the campaign offers the opportunity to take a look into the creative process of re-developing this iconic collaboration as Hilfiger reminisces about bringing to life the original partnership between his eponymous brand and The Coca-Cola company.

Items within the collection include clothing for both men and women with an obvious and appreciative nod to the 80s, updated with contemporary silhouettes and a new logo that fused the iconic TOMMY JEANS and Coca-Cola logos. Highlights of the collection include sweatshirts and t-shirts available in royal blue, red, white, yellow, teal and a softer, sky blue.

Over the course of the brand’s existence, Tommy Hilfiger has become one of the world’s most recognised premium designer lifestyle groups with a focus on designing and marketing high-quality men’s tailored clothing and sportswear, women’s collection apparel and sportswear, kidswear, denim collections, underwear, footwear and accessories. Beginning in the 90s, Tommy Hilfiger established himself as one of the first designers to blend fashion and celebrity, quickly becoming a pioneer in the industry by dressing young artists such as Asliya, Mark Ronson and Usher while also working with the likes of David Bowie and Beyonce on his advertising campaigns. Since then he’s worked with celebrities including Gigi Hadid (designing four TommyxGigi womenswear capsule collections) and Zendaya alongside working with four-time Formula One champion, Lewis Hamilton as part of an AW18 TommyxLewis menswear collaborative collection.

The TOMMY JEANS COCA-COLA capsule collection is available at select TOMMY JEANS stores, select wholesale partners and online at tommy.com. Having had a sneak peek at the collection ahead of time, we’re struggling not to add the entire collection to our cart.

As for how we’re styling the collection, we’re channelling the laid-back, tailored look this American brand is renowned for and earmarking these items for chilled summer evenings, paired with our favourite jeans and white sneakers. As for the half zip, cropped jacket, it’s all about the cycling shorts and street-style pride.
